2. Butterfly — These wings are scaled and generally form a colorful pattern, with the front and back usually having a different pattern.
3. Fruit Fly — Observe so-called wing "hairs" at high magnification. The fruit fly beats its wings 200 times per second.
4. House Fly — Found world wide, they can beat their wings up to 1000 times per second.
5. Mosquito — The small paired wings are veined and they beat up to 600 times per second to create the familiar whine.
