Sodium Borate consists of white, noncombustable crystals, slightly water soluble. It is used in fire assaying of gold and other precious metals. This anhydrous form of the chemical contributes to smoother melting in the assay furnace. The commercial name for Sodium Borate is Borax. This is a stock chemical. Usually ships within 24 hours.
