WindLog allows for your accurate wind study
to optimize turbine placement for performance.
The RainWise WindLog is a stand alone wind data logger, compact and inexpensive and designed to test wind viability of a location prior to installation of a wind turbine. The WindLog allows your personal wind study to optimize turbine placement in a specific location and provides more detail than wind charts for the area.
WindLog Features Include...
- 1 MB of Flash memory stores over a years worth of wind data.
- Operates on three AA Alkaline or Lithium batteries.
- Uses USB power when connected to a computer.
- USB port provides fast downloads.
- Free Windows software.
- Logs average speed, wind gust and average direction.
- User selectable logging intervals from one minute to one hour.
Windlog utillizes 3AA batteries and the typical battery life should be from 6 to 9 months. It will use USB port power to run when connected to a computer, extending battery life.
The Mini-Aervane wind sensor’s low friction race bearings allow a low threshold of 1 mph. The wind direction sensor has a 16 point resolution, and logged readings are averaged direction readings.
The Rainwise WindLog ships with the inclusion of a MS Windows-based application named "WindSoft" included in the price. This software uses a SQLite database to track and record wind info and the logging interval can be set for once a minute to once an hour. Optional USB extenders can lengthen the included 15 ft. USB cable to over 100 ft.
When the USB cable is left connected to the WindLog, real-time wind-data viewing on the computer is allowed. With both logged and real-time data combined, the WindLog can be used both online and offline. The WindSoft software can generate statistics, graphs and reports, plus export CSV files or use with Excel or other applications which support CSV files.
A support mast is included with the WindLog and can be used with any other Rainwise mounting system. With U-bolts or lag screws, the mast can be attached to a support structure.
