This compact design microscope allows viewing of specimen slides optically via battery power, or digitally by plugging the USB cable into your computer's USB port. Compatible with Windows XP & Vista, Mac OSX 10.4.9 or higher.
By placing the 2 Megapixel digital camera on the eyepiece tube, specimens or objects can be viewed as a snapshot image or as a short video where movement might be involved. The included ArcSoft software CD ROM permits use of the microscope for visual imaging purposes with the computer. Also permits viewing of small, thin objects at lower magnifications such as coins, rocks, insects, etc.
This digital microscope is a Plug & Play type where your computer should automatically recognize the driver type on Windows XP and Vista Operating Systems. If you use Apple OS (Version 10.4.9 and higher) the device is also Plug & Play, so no drivers are needed. However, you still need MAC compatible image capture software to "take pictures". Photo Booth, iChat or Skype are just a few of such programs.
